North Texas Irish Festival

March, 10, 2009

Hello All!

I hope that the winter treated you all well. The first event of the festival season sees Red River Clan Cameron ramping up for a great summer.

This past weekend was the North Texas Irish Festival in Dallas, TX. Two and a half days of lots of people, lots of music and lots of visitors to our clan tent. While not as busy as some of our other events, like the Texas Scottish Festival and the Salado games, we did manage to sell some T-shirts and bumper stickers we had tucked away in our clan merchandise stuff.

It was the debut of the wonderful new tent decorations that Bobby Halpenny has been working on for us. While still in the development stages, the initial structure seems solid for an indoor event and with a few tweaks will probably hold up to the battering that our festival gear often gets. (Anyone else remember the storms that hit the Texas Scottish Festival last year?)

We handed out a number of membership forms, and hopefully they will return to us – filled out and with dues. A lot of our visitors said they’d see us again at the Texas Scottish Festival.

Acting President of Red River Clan Cameron
