Good Evening Clan Cameron

June 15, 2008

Failte a Charaid,

Happy Father’s Day to you all. I hope you are enjoying it as much as my family and I are.

Well, I wanted to send out just a quick communication today just to keep all clan’s men and women up to date on our success at the Texas Scottish Festival held in Arlington Texas last weekend. Folks, we had an awesome time and an awesome turnout. The whiskey raffle was a huge success and a Mr. Don claimed his prize with a very thankful smile on Saturday evening. I can tell you all, we had over 50 visitors this weekend to the Clan Cameron Tent. So, kudos go out to our volunteers and officer’s and especially to our fellow clan folk who visited us and braved the hot elements to enjoy a wonderful cultural experience. It made me realize how much we are tied together through Clan Cameron and our common Scottish heritage. These ties are very special ones indeed.

I would also like to welcome some new Cameron’s who have joined in the Clan Cameron Association of North America. Mr. Charles Stewart Cameron, Ms. Jayna Cameron, Mr. Mark Countryman and Mr. David Wayne Taylor. We are very happy indeed to have all of you join us, and we look forward to getting to know you and your families over the course of time. We had many visitors of Clan Cameron Heritage that visited us over the course of the weekend. For those who left their names and e-mails addresses, I would also like to extend a special and warm greeting from the Clan, and hope that you will join us at other events that will be going on throughout the year. We hope you will keep us in mind as far as full membership. We would love to “add your name to our rolls” as it were.

We have some great events planned through out the rest of the year! Our newsletter will highlight a good portion of those but a couple to keep in mind in the near future.

October 11th 12Th Bedford Celtic Heritage Festival, Boys Ranch Park, Bedford Texas

November 7th-9th Salado Scottish Festival, Salado, Texas

November 16th Saint Andrews Dinner hosted by the Blue Bonnet Scottish Society (Time and location to be announced.

As time progresses, we’ll have specific dates, times and locations included. But I wanted to at least give you all a chance to keep these dates in mind, so that as a clan, we can all start having some fun together throughout the rest of the year!

I am looking forward to it! I hope you are, too.
